Quick question about linking between two computers

I've been able to link two instances of vbam on my laptop, however, I've had zero success doing it on two different laptops on the same network.

I've cleared the app through firewalls, but I don't think that's the issue.
Is this software at a far enough stage in development to be able to link from two different computers?
