In the old forum at the above linked thread a user stated they encountered the same issue.

However, unfortunately, a solution was not given.

I can verify that, unequivocally, XBCD is crashing, the BSOD cites the XBCD driver specifically, and that this only occured immediately after checking the full range checkbox, and furthermore crashed almost instantly after clicking apply.


Now, whether or not anyone believes me... the bottom line is that I NEED to know where XBCD is storing it's saved settings, because I've uninstalled it, searched my computer for "XBCD" -- deleted everything that comes up, and still, still, it saves my settings. I re-install, open the config utility, plug the controller in, click refresh, and it gets as far as showing me that the checkbox is STILL CHECKED and then BSOD again.

TL;DR -- I need to purge ALL XBCD settings/info/files and do a completely fresh install.

removal of the driver from Device manager will clear the settings.

It seems the full range bsod only occurs on 360 controllers, it just doesn't do anything on xbox controls.

the driver has no float conversion for the full range in the 64bit driver. It could do with a looking over by a 64bit guru to see if theres any breaks or double free's causing issues.

When you say remove the driver from the device manager do you mean have the controller plugged in and displaying in the device manager and then uninstall it?

you can use the show non present devices trick to remove a device thats not plugged in
