Hi,I'm a chinese.I like this emulator very much.I have some problems.
My english is poor,if you can not understand all what i say,please forgive me.

1.If i enable the emulator to run in background,now the emulator is emulating a game,and i let the emulator window inactive,when i hit the keyboard or press the joypad buttons in another window ,the emulator will receive the input message.In my opinion,this is very bad
2.The sound problem in loading a game from a save state,not only the gb games,but also gba games,the sound will disappear partly.The game i tested is Fire Emblem - The Sacred Stones.Load the game from a save state,and the sound will leave playing background music only.The special sound disppeared.
3.The emulator will pause even if i disable the option "pause when inactive" when the emulator window is minimized,i want the emulator to run background when the emulator is minimized
4.The emulator will crash when playing some gb/gbc games,but the vba1.7.2 version do not have this problem...

I know this is the Control sub-forum,but i post more than the control problems,if this is not allowed, please forgive me.
I have some programming skill,and I hope for the next release of vba-m

Hi guys,

I wanted to ask if someone had the same problem as me. It seems to be hardware-like. I got a notebook ASUS EeePC at 1.66GHz 1GB RAM. The matter is that I can't enjoy games as Mario Land or those in Super Mario Advance 1-2-3-4 because of the following: I cannot run and jump.

For instance, in Mario Advance 2 (Super Mario World), I try to go to the right of the scenario with B button pressed, then jump with A, and it does not work. However, going from right to left it works (not left to right).

Has anyone experienced with its hardware any bug of no response to 2 keys at the same time? Ideas are welcome, either any config to apply.

Thanks.

We seem to have broken joypad support somewhere along the lines....

with my own gamepad

Left stick
(X) Left-Right = Displays as X-
(Y) Up-Down = Displays as X+

Right Stick (R stands for Rotation)
RX = Displays as Joy Up and Joy Down, rather then RX+ and RX-
RY = + and - work properly.

Triggers (By default, they are usually on 1 Z axis but this makes pressing both at the same time impossible, i'll show the results of single axis first)
(Z-) L Trigger = Displays as Joy 1 left
(Z+) R Trigger = Displays as Joy 1 Right

I have them set on seperate axis
(Z-) L Trigger = Displays as Joy Left
(RZ-) R Trigger = Displays as Z Rotation - (Expected behavior)
Setting both triggers to the RZ axis results in the correct behavior

I'm not sure when this problem started occuring, however it works correctly in VBA 1.8

1.8's behavior is as following

Left Stick
X Axis = displays as joy left and right
Y Axis = displays as joy up and down

Right Stick
RX = X Rotation +-
RY = Y Rotation +-

Triggers
Z+- and RZ+- both work.

It seems only the axis functions are effected.

Hello,

First, excuse me for my poor english, I'm french and everybody knows that frenchies are not really good for foreign languages.

I used VBA before and found, yesterday, the "new" vba. Very happy am I.

So I downloaded SVN version this morning and compiled it on my Linux machine with SDL GUI.

I was verry surprized to see that the "video" key was no longer understood and to have a really small window (I use a 1600X1400 screen).

So I decided to try GTK version.

But.......

It is impossible to configure my joypad with this GUI. I thought it was because of a problem with my GTK configuration but "jscalibrate" works fine, as "kcontrol"

I tried with the SDL version all is good.

This is my old configuration file for VBA SDL, only part for the joystick.

Joy0_Left=1000
Joy0_Right=1001
Joy0_Up=1002
Joy0_Down=1003
Joy0_A=108a
Joy0_B=108b
Joy0_L=0061
Joy0_R=0073
Joy0_Start=1088
Joy0_Select=1089
Joy0_Speed=1086
Joy0_Capture=1087

These values were gave by SDL-Test and work fine.

If somebody knows how to configure joystick under GTK GUI and/or have a window greater in with SDL Gui he would be very welcomed.

Thank you
