    [Fixed]A Sound issue in M&L

I'll give it a try in the near future; was just thinking about going through those games again...

    [Fixed]A Sound issue in M&L

Seems to happen more in certain areas then others; Example: Being in a town (or near one) seems to cause the issue more often. Might just be the game being flaky, as I played for 3 hours today with no issue, and the second I went into a town area, I lost sound channel 3.

    [Fixed]A Sound issue in M&L

I also noticed it seems to happen more often in certain areas; I went two hours yesterday before it started to pop up, (all in a new area), but once back in the BeanBean Kingdom (where the savestate is at), it started to act up again...might be coincidence though...

    [Fixed]A Sound issue in M&L

http://www.filefactory.com/file/a1g7b28/n/Mario_And_Luigi_Superstar_Saga_U_2.sgm Looks like its sound channel #3 that's acting up. In this case, text doesn't make any sound when displayed, and a few other sound effects are missing...

    [Fixed]A Sound issue in M&L

In Mario & Luigi (the 1st one), one of the sound channels keeps going in/out during gameplay (eg: the sound of coins collected after battle may go missing). I've tried more or less every combination of sound option, and haven't been able to isolate the issue. Tested with/without BIOS, just to ensure that wasn't a problem. I know a late build of VBA-S had the same issue, so I guess its been around for a while...could just be that game though. I should note, the last time I used VBA-S was on an older PC, so that mostly rules out a hardware issue. As of now, I have not noticed this behavior in any other game... EDIT Forgot to mention, using the latest (Nov 10) SVN. Also should note, my current soundcard is an ASUS Xonar D2 (though my Realtek controler has the same problem in this game...)

    [FIXED]Black Screen

Not to beat a dead horse, i think I found where the problem was: Control Panel -> Display -> Settings -> Advanced -> Troubleshoot -> Uncheck "Enable Write Combining" Might be worth looking into; unchecking that option fixed a ton of issues ZSNES and Snes9x were giving me.

    [FIXED]Black Screen

I can't comment spacy, becuase now everything works with both GPU's on. Here's what I know so far: A: Got PC, startup info prior to windows login screen not shown on moniter B: Most emulators can't display properly. C: Switch to single GPU mode, moniter won't display anything for 3 restarts, then works fine (including windows startup information) D: Switch back to SLI, everything works fine. I've got no clue, but everything works now with both GPU's on. Wish i knew what happened though...If i break it again, I'll let you know how the simple build did though.

    [FIXED]Black Screen

Its not SLI per-say, its hybrid SLI. The 9800 GX2 is really two 8800 GTS wired together on one board, so no SLI setup is needed. Whats really annoying, is that I can take screenshots from the emulators, so the data is there, but is not being outputed correctly. For all i know, is my moniters fault... It seems most emulators have issues with this at the moment, but at least i can force the workload on only one card as a fix. Still, given the fact the this method of SLI is becomming popular for those of us who hate buying two cards and keeping them both updated, this issue might need to be invistigated more. Can anyone running a 9800 GX2 or a Redean 3870 X2 confirm they have the same issue (i wonder if its just NVIDIA's recently bad driver support as well...)

    [FIXED]Black Screen

SOLVED I have to go to the NVIDIA control panel and switch manually to single GPU mode, then restart. VBA works fine after that, and so does pSX and ePSEe. Now for my next question, is there a way to switch this mode ONLY for a few applications without having to restart every time I switch?

    [FIXED]Black Screen

Good idea to disable the hybrid SLI on my GX2, but still no-go. You are right though, is does sound like an output issue, given that screenshots (from within the emulator) work fine. I'm still toying around with things on my end, but have a clue right now... EDIT Just found out that pSX has the same exact issue. Looking into other emulators now. EDIT2 ePSXe doesn't work either; same blank screen with the DX7/D3D, OpenGL, and OpenGL2 plugins. Its not the emulator, its something else on my end. I'm going to look into IdeaS some more, as it also has an issue, but only at a 1.5x zoom, so maybe its some sort of sizing issue???

    Tried both, no effect.

175.16, the latest drivers for the card.

    [FIXED]Black Screen

That was the first thing i tried, but that didn't work either. I also tried most of the filtering options but still nothing. On a side note, this may be entirely unrelated, but when I use Ideas for NDS emulation, if i set the zoon to 1.5, i get a simmilar effect (though that emulator is so unstable, it could just be the emulator acting up...). EDIT I just noticed, that all emulator status messages are hidden as well. That is, if a save a state, the message saying I did won't show (or to be more precisise, is behind the black screen). The messages show up in any screenshots taken as well.

    [FIXED]Black Screen

I recently got a new PC, and I'm having display issues with ALL version of VBA. When i load a ROM, the screen remains blank, regardless of any video/filter/bios options i set. The sound still works, and if i take a screen capture, i get the correct image. I've tried the 5 most recent SVN compiles, as well as the last two versions of VBA-S so far, and the all have the same problem. And yes, my Direct x is fully updated, thats not the issue. I can also confirm that most other emulators (No$GBA for instance) work fine, so its not the games either. CPU: 3.0 GHz Quad Core (Intel 9650 i believe) GPU: NVIDIA GeForce 9800 GX2 Any ideas on how to get VBA working for me again?
